STUDY ON FLOODS HAZARD

The central part of Vietnam is the most affected by floods and climate change is expected to worsen the frequency, intensity, impacts of these extreme weather events.

SEAHORSE is in discussion with its partner – Fugro who has supported studies on this disaster in some other countries.

Fugro has been awarded a Geo-data acquisition contract to support the World Bank in its efforts to support the Government of Romania in preparing flood hazard and risk maps, and flood risk management plans, at a national level. The contract includes a range of surveys: airborne lidar, the bathymetry of inland rivers, aerial imagery for high-resolution orthophotography mapping; topographic surveys... The acquired Geo-data will be used for hydraulic modeling and flood hazard mapping.
