Sustaining Support Throughout the Campaign
Seahorse supplied an AHTS vessel and its operating crew to support a drilling campaign at Block 09-2/09, offshore Vietnam.
Extending over approximately six months, the assignment required more than the mobilisation of a suitable vessel. Vessel readiness, crew management, maintenance, and operational coordination had to be sustained throughout the campaign.
For Seahorse’s onshore and offshore teams, the priority was to keep the vessel prepared for the project’s requirements while maintaining clear coordination with the wider drilling operation.
Operating Around Offshore Conditions
Weather periodically reduced the available offshore working windows and prevented the vessel from operating on every planned day. The crew therefore had to remain responsive to changing conditions and ready to resume support activities when operations could proceed.
Long-duration campaigns place continuous demands on both assets and personnel. Equipment condition, onboard systems, crew competency, supplies, and communication must be managed consistently to maintain operational continuity over time.
The assignment was completed after approximately 170 operating days, meeting the project’s technical requirements.
Strengthening Domestic Offshore Capability
The Block 09-2/09 campaign added an important long-duration drilling-support reference to Seahorse’s Offshore Support Vessels portfolio.
It demonstrated the company’s ability to provide an AHTS vessel and operating crew for an extended offshore programme while maintaining vessel readiness under changing field conditions. The experience further strengthened Seahorse’s capability to support major offshore operators and drilling activities in Vietnam.
